Wellness Workshop

March 2 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

This workshop will be facilitated by Elmarie Kruger who is a senior counselling psychologist at the Centre for Student Counselling and Development. The workshop will be an in-person event in the AVReQ Boardroom. NB: All MA students are encouraged to attend.

Data Analysis Workshop

March 23 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Dr Browyn Coetzee will facilitate this workshop. She will be speaking about common approaches to qualitative data analysis, including theoretical and methodological aspects – like how we code, why we code, inductive versus deductive methods, and reflexivity. The workshop will be held online. An MS Teams link will be provided close to the event. NB: All MA students are encouraged to attend.

Theoretical Frameworks

April 13 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

This workshop will provide postgraduate students with guidelines on why conceptual frameworks are important and the essential steps in developing an appropriate theoretical framework for a research study.

Dr Melike Fourie & Dr Melanie Cilliers will lead the programme. NB: All MA students are encouraged to attend.

Academic Publishing

June 15

Presenter: Dr Melike Fourie

This workshop will serve as an introduction to publishing in peer-reviewed outlets and how to navigate the process. NB: All MA students are encouraged to attend the workshop.

Thesis Writing Workshop

August 1 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

In this workshop we will look at different approaches used in thesis writing.

Academic Writing Skills Workshop: Theses and Dissertations

August 16 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Selene Delport from the SU Language Centre will facilitate this workshop over a twelve-hour period. She will among other things speak about the role of the reader, style, external and internal structure, coherence, and argumentation in thesis and dissertation writing.
