Kate Woode-Smith is a first-year masters student working towards a MA in Psychology through Stellenbosch University (SU) and AVReQ. She completed a BSc in Human Life Sciences and Psychology (cum laude) followed by her Honours in Psychology (cum laude) at SU. Kate is interested in exploring gender relations and the stories we know and tell about gender and violence in the South African context. She is currently the grant holder of a masters’ scholarship through AVReQ which is funded by FirstRand.

Current Research Project

A narrative exploration of the experiences, meaning making, and identity construction of digital gender-based violence activists in the South African context.
