This discussion was organised as part of the series of events to launch our book, Post-Conflict Hauntings: Transforming Memories of Historical Trauma, Co-edited by Kim Wale, pumla Gobodo-Madikizela and Jeffrey Prager. We were privileged to have Professor Stephen Frosh on the panel, not only because he wrote an endorsement for the book, but because of the intellectual insights he brought to the discussion. Other speakers were Dr Thando Njovane (Rhodes University), Dr Stephen David (Stellenbosch University), Dr Kim Wale (Stellenbosch University)
Chair: Dr Melike Fourie (Studies in Historical Trauma & Transformation, Stellenbosch University) The interdisciplinary contributions by the speakers reflect the perspective of diverse country case studies including South Africa, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Northern Ireland, North and South Korea, Palestine and Israel, America, and Australia.
